If McCain gets in, we are in a deep recession. If Obama, his taxes policy will lead us into a depression. Either way, I think we are screwed.

Any explanation on why McCain leads to recession? And which aspect of Obama's tax policy would lead to a depression?

I think investors

believe that this bear market is going to last much longer than

previous episodes (who knows how long it will take for housing prices to stabilize) and even when the economy recovers, the inevitable de-levaraging means that growth will most likely be slower in the long-term. Combined with higher commodity/food/energy prices, increased competition from overseas companies, the US govt debt approaching what I would consider dangerous levels, and perhaps even the end of Dollar "hegemony," I remain relatively bearish on the long-term prospects of the US economy.

I think the common theme is that we are screwed either way. It just shows the fact that people don't believe in their government anymore.

Unfortunately many no longer have faith in a system that bails out the ones who caused the problems and leaves the workers to struggle

I think we are in the middle of the 4th inning in a long 9 inning economic down turn! The trouble we are seeing is the rock falling in the pond..look out for the ripples!
