I like the tone of this article; the media is certainly manipulating the facts of the recession simply in order to boost sales. Facts are selectively reported, and as the author suggested, the media usually resorts to sensationalism and/or scaremongering.

Interestingly, people are still quite well off. Some people are getting severely sideswiped, but most people are just worried about trimming a little of the immense overconsumption that we in the West have come to take for granted.

I like when he suggests that "bloggers are more in touch than the mainstream press."

The media tends to look for a "car crash" to cover, or their stories are too simplistic to be of any use. I think bloggers are doing a better job of acknowledging the situation, and also suggesting some real ways to cope and deal with the economy.

People don't forget to enjoy even in this down market. They take the life in a sporting way... recession or no recession...
