If management gave you a choice right now, would you vote for job cuts at your company or for everyone to have a pay cut? Obviously you cannot know ahead of time whether you will be one of those people getting laid off (if that route is picked), otherwise I don’t believe there will be many who are going to actually choose to get laid off!
