Thanks for the tips! I think stopping the habit of going out to eat is HUGE! Today, sadly, I made the mistake and ended up paying over $8 for lunch- ridiculous!

Had I gone grocery shopping and done it the right way, I could have paid $8 for the next WEEK of lunches!

It's crazy how much money you can save doing it yourself, rather than paying for food. And don't forget about my favorite food group -- leftovers!

I disagree with the "do not carry cash" piece of advice. I think a better piece of advice would be to not carry the debit card and only carry a little bit of cash, so that when you dont have any money left, you cant make any more purchases. It's funny how much overlap there is between this list and a hypothetical list of living a healthy life; i.e. exercise more, cook for yourself, spend less time playing with electronics, etc.

I tend to try to limit how much cash I carry. It's tempting to use the credit card sometimes, but if you use the credit card only when you don't have the cash, and you don't carry much cash, it works out.
