At this time of year plenty of tax tips are offered, most being the same. Here are a couple that do not get much mention nut can be of great help.

Tax planning is one of the biggest and most important factors involved in managing your personal finances. It's probably one of factors that gets the least attention from folks too, so I appreciate this post.

You are very correct in your take on taxes, as sad as it may be. Unfortunately, not many people understand taxes to begin with, and even worse, many people would rather save the money by attempting to do them on their own and take the chance that they do not do the job correctly. Even getting one response such as your makes the effort to write the article completely worth it.

And why is that? Because we've got a nation of people afraid of math + numbers. I still don't know why that is. Maybe because math was made so complicated in school. (It can actually be fun.)

That's the funny thing: taxes aren't about numbers OR math. It is based on concepts and theories which are fairly convoluted and can be somewhat difficult to understand. That is the reason why I don't recommend anyone attempt to do their own taxes unless they have a basic 1040 with just W-2s and some interest or dividends and cannot itemize.

Ok, there are many such tips. And, I am not sure whether these tips are effective. I believe a tax consultant is always a better option, as you will get professional help without spending any sleepless nights.

It will be interesting to analyze trends of hiring tax consultants in the coming spring. Will people try to save money on taxes by completing their own forms? Or will they they try to save as much as they can of their shrinking assets by hiring a consultant?
