@Andy/Jim/Tamar: Can we get rid of the public email addresses? (Mine's no secret or anything. But it doesn't seem like a wise idea to share everybody's if the goal is to build a user base. Right?)

I still doubt that we understand the basics of investments. That could be the reason why our economy is in doldrums.

People didn't care to investigate how he was generating returns that no one else was able to duplicate. Madoff's investments were up over 5% this year when almost everyone else is down substantially.

The individual investor/little guy needs to educate himself, one place to start is read Ben Grahams "The Intelligent Investor" written almost 60 years ago those same rules apply today. Warren Buffett said this was the best book ever written on finanace and the stock market. Bernie Madoff probably never read it.
