I've handed wallets and things in before. You only ever unusally get a feel good buzz, but once I got a personal gig invite from a minor rock star whose accounts I'd found in a file in the street in West London!

Some good people do exist. I have done it before, although the amount was small. Ironically, the person whom I returned the money, was not so amused. He looked at me with suspicion and then took the wallet without saying a "Thanks".

Good people do exist. I would give it a long hard look before turning that in! Maybe pay off a loan then turn in the difference!

From the article, it sounds like the "elderly" woman was pretty braindead, and perhaps didt deserve to have her money returned. Finders keepers, anyone?

I agree; I'd return it. However, this loosely reminds me of the time that I found a $5 dollar at the CNE (Exhibition) in Toronto when I was seven. I took it up to a cop, he looked at it and said, "Nobody's name on it," then pocketed it himself.
