Wealth preservation is the golden goose most non-millionaires underestimate. This is an outstanding post on the longer view of investing, ie, preserving wealth for the next generation.

And yet, that same $18.96 invested over the same term would now be worth $419,770, nearly 350 times as much as that one ounce of Gold.

See http://www.moneychimp.com/features/market_cagr.htm for long term market growth. Sorry, but to compare an investment against putting cash under one's mattress is hardly a sound endorsement.

Better still, when gold was $800 in 1980 was it? The gold bugs continued to hawk gold, of course. That $800 has grown to $19,800 invested in stock. Anyone need 10 suits instead of one?

I'm not interested in short term, as anyone that wanted to buy the S&P at 1500 and bailed at 666 was welcome to do so, but no investment should be undertaken for these brief periods.

Hey, I just found your website, how many posts do you want me to do in one day?

I'm not spamming anyone. I haven't found any other place to purchase my gold and silver at wholesale pricing, unless I have $10,000 to plop down at once to get a meager discount on fees. With PoW I can purchase 1 coin or a million coins, they will all be at wholesale.

You don't want to put your money into gold and silver, then don't. Some people are interested in this as a wealth preservation vehicle.

You made money in the stock market - good for you - many haven't - many have lost their shirts. To each his own. I'm not going to call you names because your opinion about where you put your money is different than mine.
