Today the McClellan Oscillator closed at 315.3 . This is the highest reading I have on my database going back to 1960. In the past a very high McClellan Oscillator reading has a short term bearish implication for the major indices. Historically , when the McClellan Oscillator has closed greater than 200 the S&P has declined an average of -.63% the next day with 11 down out of 20 occurrences being down, and in 5 days the S&P has on average been down -.95% with 10 out of 16 occurrences down.
